The August Sound Coalition is a group of independent sound/transmission artists, journalists, and musicians who initially converged to create A-Noise, an autonomous media project coincident with the Republican National Convention and protests in New York City. August Sound Coalition survives as a collective based in New York, and will continue bringing our unique broadcasts to the public. Over the course of the next year we will work towards the development of new independent community radio stations for Brookyln and lower Manhattan.

A-Noise --- a collaborative project organized by independent sound makers to coincide with the protests at the Republican National Convention in New York City. Our goal was to create a welcoming and supportive structure that sound artists, radio groups, and activists of all skill levels would be able to plug into during the RNC. The overall project included workshops, editing workstations, and air-time programming on a coordinated webstream.  An archive project is now in the works to document the entire event.
